5). After lunch today, we will have a play - “natak” - which will tell the amazing story of three generations – in India, Africa and England. The play has been written by Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi and our own 11 actors will perform on the stage. So please remain behind to see the saga of our fathers and forefathers.

As usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea/Coffee and sponsored Biscuits.

(Today's lunch menu included : 'Mohanthal', Khaman Dhokra, Puri, mix beans shaak, arad daal   etc.)

Today's programme started on time at 2.00 pm by Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi who announced that the 'Natak' was written by him some 25/30 years ago and normally we always have some comedy but this natak is serious as it is the story of all of us and all Actors are our senior citizens who are amatures. So please see them acting and give us your support.
The play narrated the saga of three generations. The first one lived in a village in India. Here a young boy -Jayanti is attracted by the wealth and a watch with gold chain worn by a visitor from East Africa. The visitor – Jamnadasbhai takes him to East Africa and there he works hard and establishes his own business.

This was the second Generation. Jayanti's family was happy there but had to leave Africa due to upheaval. They had to leave everything behind and went to England. Their daughter had gone to study in London and had established her own Accountancy Office there.

The third Generation is that of Jayantbhai's daughter – Sudha. Her business dealings are the sign of her prosperity. One day her Secretary – Vina finds and old watch which she hands over to Sudha. The watch brings back all memories of the past two Generations. She remembers her grandparents and life in Africa and London. The philosophy of migration and some old memories come to the surface. The play ends with a message that – Shall we have to leave this country too ??.

The Play was written and directed by Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi and the Senior Citizen actors were our members :

Rameshbhai Shah as Chimanbhai

Secretary – Purnimaben Mehta thanked all who took part in the 'Natak' and praised all for their wonderful performance. A special thanks was given to Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi for having written such an amazing story of three generations which depicted normal journeys of our fathers and forefathers who struggled through their lives for the younger generations well being in their future lives.
