ANNOUNCEMENT AND PROGRAMME ON 11/4/24

ATTENTION

Please note that this is an addendum to the announcement to Thursday 11 April. We have announced that guests are welcome for Thursday 18 April but they have to inform Purnima Mehta or Vinod Parekh beforehand. 

This is to point out that there will be a charge of £10 (as usual) for any guests attending. This will be paid at the registration desk on the day.

1. ANNOUNCEMENTS THIS WEEK - THURSDAY 11 APRIL 

  • Today's special lunch was sponsored on the occasion of the 1st 'TITHI' of Late Mr Manharlal Mohanlal Mehta - by his wife Mrs Vidyaben Manharlal Mehta, sons Divyesh and Daxsesh, daughter-in-laws Pragna and Kaksha.
  • On behalf of NVK, the President thanked the Mehta parivar for the sponsorship and wished for Lord Mahavir for peace to Late Manharlalbhai's soul.

2. NEXT WEEK & FUTURE AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES (subject to any last minute changes) 

  • On 18/04/24- Surprise Sponsored Special lunch and an afternoon of Bollywood music by Atulbhai and Nitaben Kanabar from 1.45pm. The sponsor name will be revealed on Thursday. 
  • On 18/4/24 - we will have chair Yoga.
  • Yoga session will end at 12.15pm. 
  • Announcements will be followed by Bollywood music, which will commence at 1.45pm
  • Guests are welcome but they have to inform Purnimaben Mehta or Vinodbhai Parekh beforehand.

3. DONATIONS

  • £11 Khushi Bhet from Nareshbhai R Doshi 
  • Biscuit packets from Priyaben Mandalia in memory of her Late husband Kirtibhai Mandalia.

4. AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

  • In the afternoon, a special Kalash was brought in by ‘Parasdham Team’ under the leadership of Sanjaybhai Parekh. This was in honour of Sadhvi Mahasati Saumyashriji who has undertaken 1008 Ayambil (આયંબિલ), in India. Under the guidance and blessings of Rashtarasant P P Namramuniji Maharaj Saheb. 
  • Vinodbhai Kapashi explained both the procedures and also explained how this penance is carried out.  
  • All present in the hall offered a small piece of Sakar સાકર (Crystal Sugar) in that Kalash. The Kalash will be taken to India to be used for the Parna પારણા ceremony. 
  • Many members appreciated the opportunity given to them to be part of this auspicious penance. Many felt that although they were not in a position to undertake this hard 'tap' they were still able to share in the fruits of the 'tap' by putting a piece of sakar in the kalash for the Parna.
  • Vinodbhai also explained that another Acharya Hansratna ji Maharaj Saheb has achieved a world record by completing 180 days of fasts - six times.
