NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –11th APRIL ‘19
1). Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah and Manishaben conducted Yogic poses to tone up the leg, hip, hamstring muscles and joints. Thanks to her from Kendra.
2). DONATIONS: * Today’s lunch is sponsored by Pritiben who is the daughter of our member – Navinchandra Vaid. She had joined in the Torquay trip and wrote thanking us for our hospitality and also she had enjoyed it so much that it was one of the holidays she will never forget. She remembered us for giving her a lovely holiday and sponsored the lunch. Our Heartiest thanks to her.
* £25 from Suryakantbhai L. Mehta who celebrated his 86th birthday yesterday. Kendra’s Heartiest congratulations and we pray that he enjoys many more birthdays to come.
3). After lunch today we have a programme on “Advertisements” – how to write a Humorous Adverts, and at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea and Biscuits.
(Jasuben started the programme by advertising ‘Mast Bahar’ mouth freshner and later on giving a ball each for tasting. Members who had given their names then came and started to advertise on products like Navratri dresses, oil for massage etc etc. One spoke on the Gujarati nataks names and how each was humorously advertised in a sentence. Others spoke on various radio/TV adverts. Vinodbhai Kapashi gave information of how adverts affected sales of products. Many members had stayed behind for the programme and Jayantbhai Doshi thanked Jasuben for organising such programmes that were highly praised by members.)
4). Next Thurs – 18/4 we will have a programme on Health benefits of “Ayambil” and message of Lord Mahavir by Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi.
5). Please collect your NVK ID cards from the Front Desk.
6). On 9th May we will have a full day musical programme with Special Lunch again, both of which have been sponsored. Members will have to obtain £1 ticket from the Main Desk at the entrance so that we can plan for catering. There will be no Yoga. (Already over 200 tickets booked today).
7). Newsletter for April has been emailed to members and also uploaded on our Website. A few hard copies will be available for those members who have no access to emails.
8). Satsangs by Pujya Deepakbhai Desai of Dada Bhagwan are being held from this Friday to Monday at Byron Hall, Harrow Leisure Centre from 7.30 to 10.00pm and whole day on Sunday from 10am. Contact Vinubhai Malde for further details.
9). Remembering Jallianwala Bhag massacre by a British Officer – Reginald Dyer. On 13/4 is the centenary when the officer ordered Gurkhas and Indian troops to fire at a crowd of thousands of people in Amritsar’s Jallianwala Bhag. Indian TV channel announced that British Parliament had not apologised for this dark deed. This was wrong as an apology stating that this was a dark dot on British History was given in the Parliament on 10/4.
10). President - Vinod Parekh announced that our Treasurer – Punambhai Patwa had made a Gift Aid repayment claim of £2259.88, which was approved by H M Revenue & Customs. He was thanked for his hard work in preparing accounts for this. He also announced that we are trying to arrange day trips etc and will soon let members know.
11). Jasuben Sheth announced about the afternoon programme and read out the names of members taking part.
