NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS –11TH MAY 2017
We have to inform members with much regret and sorrow that the Brother in law (Banevi) of our President – Vinod Parekh and also a brother to our member -Bhartiben K. Mehta : Nayan Navlachand Mehta – Age 61 passed away on Tues – 9/5. On behalf of Kendra, we offer our heartfelt condolences to all the families and also pray that the deceased’s soul rest in eternal peace. Om Shanti Om Shanti Om Shanti

1). Today’s warm-up Yoga was conducted by Ushaben Mehta and Manishaben conducted the main Yoga with exercises to strengthen internal organs and she gave many health tips including one for frozen shoulder. Many thanks to both of them.

* Chandrikaben and Lalit Mehta’s 36th Wedding Anniversary is today and their daughter has prepared special donut sweets which will be given to members at lunch time. Kendra’s Heartiest congratulations and Best Wishes to them and we pray that they both enjoy many more anniversaries to come. (Nootaben sang a special song for their anniversary).
3). After lunch today we will have Bingo games and as usual Kendra will provide tea and biscuits at Tea Time.
4). Next Thurs – 18th May we will have Whist Drive. ALSO REMEMBER THAT PARKING IS ONLY ON THE OUTSIDE ANNEX FROM THE MAIN ROAD.
5). Jasuben Sheth has arranged a very interesting debate : “Buddhapa ni maja ke buddhapa ni sajaa” on 25th May. Those participants who gave their names are requested to come prepared.
6). The Memories Cricket match at the Lord’s on Sun -21st May. We have applied for tickets for those who gave their names. We will inform you when it is ready. Those who have not been to the Lord’s MCC Museum, do not miss this opportunity to see this.
7). Newsletter for May was emailed to members and a few hard copies are available for those who have no access to emails. This has also been uploaded on our website. Photos of our programmes are also loaded on our website under : Galleries.
8). Our member – Hansaben Mistry’s son Hitesh attended our gathering last month and this was the first time he attended and he has written to state that he was very impressed with all the work we do for the elderly and his mother has benefited a lot since she started to attend Kendra. He mentioned that just as his mother is uncomfortable in use of mobiles, many elderly may also be needing help in the use of mobiles. He has offered to help in providing the most basic training in using mobile phones (specially smart phones). If anyone is interested in learning how to use mobile phones, please give your names to Ashokbhai Mehta on the Main Table. We are very happy and grateful to his offer of help.
9). Yet again we have been offered the special £5 tickets for the Friendship Matinee at the Royal Albert hall on Sun – 18th June at 6.15pm. This time Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be presenting the music of Elmer Bernstein who is famous for providing some award winning tunes for films like ‘The Magnificient Seven’, ‘The Great Escape and other memorable tunes. 10). We have booked a Kiran Puohit play – “Lagan Ni Viyadhi .......Divorce in Upadhi” on Sun -25th June at 1.00 pm at the Patidar Federation Hall, Wembley. 11). We are pleased and thankful to our Secretary –Jayantbhai Doshi for donating to Kendra his Laptop, which he does not use now. This was required whenever we had presentations on screen like slides.
12). As Summer has started, we have arranged many trips, outings and picnics for members. Soon many members are going on a trip to Croatia from 15th to 23rd May and we wish them a happy holiday. The other trip already full is for the Potters Resort from 12th to 16th June. We will soon send details for a day picnic outing.
ALL PERSONS JOINING IN THE CROATIA TRIP SHOULD MEET FOR A MEETING UPSTAIRS AFTER LUNCH.
13) On 1st June we have invited a psychotherapist from Mumbai and she would share her experience in the field of wellness and mental health. She can speak in Gujarati and Hindi and this will be an interesting topic so please stay after lunch. Many htnaks to Pragnaben Mandalia for arranging this.
14) Navnat Vanik Bhagini Samaj is celebrating their 40th Anniversary celebrations by the new committee organising their first programme – Navgrah Pooja on Sun – 4th June from 9.00am to 12.30 pm followed by Swamivastaliya. More details from NVBS members or Jayshreeben Vora – M: 07727038679
