This was yet another hit programme and many members stayed behind for the spectacular show.  Many members had come dressed in India’s Tricolours and the first item was the colourful march past with Indian Flags and patriotic music. This was followed by :   * Sudhaben Kapashi (patriotic song)  * Jasuben Mehta – song   *Jasuben Sheth with a tuneful poem on Rakshbandhan and in praise of the NVK Committee for their  excellent work at tours and picnics. * Purnimaben Meswani –patriotic song       *Jayesh Mehta  -song    *Vijayashree Rajpur – song     * Ramaben Doshi – song * Kusumben Punater – song with ‘divas’ and flags accompanied by all Committee Members.  * Lalit Mehta – a wonderful medley of all patriotic songs.

Nimaben Kakad sang a song on Rakshabandhan and called Committee members to be tied with ‘rakhis’ with blessings of their sisters.

Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi compered the whole proceedings of the show very well with his usual brief introductions, historical references and details.  He closed the show by singing the National Anthem when everyone joined in singing by standing up.   He thanked all participants and regretted that because of time restrictions a few members were not given a chance to give their presentation.

4).  Next Thurs – 22/8, we will have a “Janmashtami” programme.  There will be Chair Yoga only.

5).  Last Tues- 13/8, 67 members had joined in the day picnic to Virginina Waters and everybody enjoyed the same as the weather was sunny and had seen all the monuments there.

7).  Some time ago Michael Richards came to give us a Tai Chi sample class instead of our usual Yoga session.  He has informed us that he runs a local class in Colindale Community Centre, The Hyde URC Church, Varley Parade, Colindale NW9 6RR on Tuesdays from 10.15 to 11.15am.  His contact is 07788 630 097.
