NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 27th FEB ‘20

1). Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by our members : Jayeshbhai Shah, Dineshbhai T Shah, Indrakant Bakhai and Jasuben Sheth.  Jayeshbhai and Dineshbhai conducted Yogic poses for all body joints, Indrakant conducted Yogic poses in slow motion and Jauben conducted ‘Savasana’ and laughing Yoga.  Everyone enjoyed all these yogs. Many thanks to all from Kendra.

2). DONATIONS:  * Today’s lunch is sponsored by Vanik Council of UK, who have also organised this afternoon’s Organ Donation programme.  Many thanks to their President – Manharbhai Mehta and all his Committee.
* £51 from Hansaben and Kishor Mehta on the occasion of ‘Tithi’ of their both  grand parents.  Kendra’s many thanks.
(Today’s lunch included ‘Chutti Bundi’, ‘Bateta vada’, ‘khichdi and kadhi’, ‘rotla’ etc.)

3). After lunch today, Vanik Council of UK will present a very interesting talk on “Organ Donations”.  We will have personal experiences from Organ Donors and as usual at Tea time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.
Vanik Council UK is doing a wonderful work of promoting organ donations in the Vanik community. The programme started after a short introduction by Vinodbhai Kapashi.  Vanik Council UK members then gave talks on the organ donations with the help of projector. They started by distributing ‘Organ Donation’ forms to members and explained how the form is to be filled by giving explanation. Then their speakers informed how they have joined the UK wide campaign to address the urgent need for more life saving organ donors after death and also details of their new programme of breaking down the myths and increase support for donation and ensue that people know the law in England is changing this spring and their choices. Some donor’s family members then spoke about their experiences  and were presented with certificates.

4).  Next Thurs – 5th March, we will have a full day Medical Camp organised by Pragnaben Mandalia on the theme of knee and hip problems.  Five specialists including Physiotherapists will come. There will be no Yoga. The programme will start at 11.00am.

5).  Navnat Vanik Bhagini Samaj has organised a free coach service from Kenton Library for their Bhagini members only for their ‘Women Empowerment programme on International Women’s Day’.  Further details from Purnimaben Mehta.

6).  At lunch time, please take only the quantity you can eat, so that we do not have any wastage of food (which is happening in the past).

7) President – Vinod Parekh announced : Lions Clubs programme on 1/3 – there is still one name required for a table.  All other members who have given names should reach Harrow Leisure Centre by 1.00 pm.  He also gave details of the first trip to Cotswold from 11th to 15th May.  Members : £175 pp sharing and Single supplement £195pp.  Non – members : £200 pp and single supp -£220.  Names with payment to be given to Purnimaben Mehta from 5th March at the front Desk. Non-members names will be taken on ‘Waiting List’ and first preference will be given strictly to members.

8) V.President – Vinodbhai Kapashi gave details about the afternoon and for the 5/3 programmes.  On 12/3 we will have a grand programme on reciting Shayaris, Gazals, Quawalis etc.  He requested for members to give their names and start preparing for the same.
