NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 2nd JAN ‘20
1). We welcome all members who have attended today, but many members have not come due to health problems. We wish them speedy recovery and wish that they will be able to join our gatherings in future. On behalf of the Managing Committee of NVK, we wish all members a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year 2020. However we regret that 5 members had passed away last year and 7 members did not renew their membership due to health problems. We wish them all the Best in their future.
2). Today’s Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Dineshbhai T Shah. Thanks from Kendra.
3). DONATIONS : *Today’s lunch is sponsored by Taraben Derashri to celebrate 87th birthday of her late husband – Deshrath P. Derashri, which is today. We pray to Almighty God to rest his soul in eternal peace.
* “Chaas” for the month of January is also sponsored by Taraben Derashri. Many thanks from Kendra.
* £50 from Harishbhai Shah in loving memory of our late member – Arunaben Shah. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
*£101 from the family members of Jayshukbhai Mehta in celebration of 100th birthday of his mother – Samratben Bhaichand Mehta. Our Heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes and we pray that she will celebrate many more birthdays to come.
4). After lunch today, we will have a programme of songs and dances to welcome the New Year 2020 and the new decade, and at Tea Time, Kendra will provide the sponsored Tea and Biscuits.
(The programme started with a beautiful dance with music by a grand-daughter of our member in colourful costume. Also another member dressed as Raj Kapoor brilliantly acted as the joker and clown from the oldie song from ‘Mera Naam Joker’. Other songs were presented. It was another well presented programme.
5). Next Thurs – 9th Jan, we will have “Antakshri”.
6). We have pleasure in welcoming the new members who have joined from this year and who have attended today. We hope that they will be joining in all our activities and volunteering where possible. They should not feel shy in showing their special talents in our programmes.
7). Newsletter for January was circulated to members. Hard copies will be available next week for those members who do not have access to emails.
8). We are planning a 17 days Carribean Cruise from 9/5/20 to 25/5/20. If you are interested in joining, please contact our Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi.
9). If anyone needs any help in making a Will at no cost, please contact our Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi.
10). President Vinod Parekh : Gave his New Year Greetings to all members and also welcomed the new members who have joined from this year. He then introduced the President, V.President, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO to the new members. He also requested for a volunteer to come forward to bring Yogurt for ‘Chaas’ every Thursdays. (immediately Vijyashreeben Rajput gave her name- many thanks from NVK).
11). Our donation of £50 to the Choir from Parish Church of St. John the Baptist, Greenhill was received by them with a letter sincerely thanking for the donation.
