NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE THURS – 17th MARCH 2022
Before the announcements, the President – Vinod Parekh and Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi welcomed all members stating that they were very happy to meet members after 2 years of lockdown. They also said that it was nice to see all members with very happy moods and wearing masks. Further, we will continue to meet if members are willing to do so.
1). We welcome members who have attended today’s gathering after 2 years of Covid lockdown. However some members have not been able to attend due to health problems and we wish them a speedy recovery and return to our gatherings in future. We also thank the Almighty God for his grace that we all have survived the greatest pandemic we have been through last two years and we keep on praying that he keeps us safe when several of our relatives, friends and members have sadly passed away.
All those attending were asked if they had taken all the 3 jabs of Covid vaccinations and everyone raised their hands and not a single member showed their hands when asked if they had not taken all 3 jabs.
2). With great sadness we have, as already informed to members, lost following 14 members during the last 2 years of lockdown :-

We will observe a minute’s silence and pray for all the deceased’s souls to rest in eternal peace and also pass our heartfelt condolences to their families.

3). We have pleasure in welcoming the new members who have joined from this year, after the MC’s approval, and who have attended today. All these new members had waited from 2013/14 to become members. We hope they will join in our activities and volunteer where possible. They should also not feel shy in showing us their special talents. Also please note that there are many members with the same names and surnames, hence always use your full names in NVK. You are now part of the NVK’s 430 + new members and 304 people on the Waiting List from 2014.
4). We did only Chair Yoga today to maintain social distancing and today’s warm-up Yoga was conducted by Dineshbhai T Shah. Many thanks from Kendra. Manishaben Wala conducted the main Chair Yoga face to face after 2 years and we all loved it. Everyone enjoyed her new chair-Yoga postures and the reasons why these postures helped in improving the body parts.
5). DONATIONS: * Today’s lunch is sponsored by our Past President – Baburai T Shah in remembrance of the loving memory of his late beloved wife – Hasmitaben, who passed away last year.
* An anonymous donor donated £25 to Kendra with Best wishes to all members. Many thanks from Kendra.
* Avantilal Jasani had brought Pocket size “Sthankwasi Jain Panchang” and requested that these were available at the Main Table.
(Today’s menu included Gulab Jamum and Dhokla- also an anonymous donor had brought the famous “Majdool Dates” to be distributed to all members.)
6). After lunch today, we will have a grand programme on “Holi” which is one of the important festival in our culture - with a very colourful display – in ‘Rang dey Basanti’ style - and as usual at Tea time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits.
(Vinodbhai Kapashi gave details of why and how the festival is observed. Members then sang songs of ‘holi’.)
7). We request to know by show of hands how many of you will be attending next Thurs – 24th March. After most of the members showed their hands it was announced by the President – Vinod Parekh that we will continue our gatherings as usual on Thursdays. From next week it will be as usual for Yoga on Yoga mats.
8). Please note that the MC of NVK has decided to increase the Guest charges to £10 due to heavy costs.
9). President Vinod Parekh announced that the current year’s fees for members will be £50 for the remaining period of this year. Members can bring their fees with their Kendra ID Cards
