1). We are pleased to inform members that our President – Baburai Shah, who was admitted to a Hospital and was operated has now returned home and is recuperating.  He is fine but weak.  He has sent his greetings to all members.
2). Today -  Jasuben Sheth conducted warm up Yoga and Manishaben gave several health tips and conducted Yoga that benefited all the parts of the body.  Many thanks to both of them.
3). DONATIONS: Today’s special lunch ( shrikhand, puri, bhajia, patra etc.) was sponsored by Sushilaben Chhotalal Kothari to celebrate the birthday of her husband – Chhotalal Kothari.  Kendra’s heartiest congratulations and best wishes.  We pray that he enjoys many more birthdays to come.
4).  After lunch today, two ‘samanijis’ from Jain Vishwa Bharti : Samani Pratibha Pragyaji (PHD from School of African and Oriental Studies-SOAS and Samani Unnata Pragyaji (currently studying PHD at SOAS) will talk about Preksha Meditation and at Tea Time, Kendra will provide the sponsored tea and biscuits.
Members enjoyed the spiritual talk and the wonderful meditation.

5). Next Thurs - 18th Aug, we will have ‘Janmasthmi’ celebrations as well as ‘Raksha Bandhan’ programme.

6).  Please note we will not meet on Thursday -25th Aug as all the Halls will be booked.  Instead we will meet on Tuesday – 23rd Aug.  We are having a full day Summer Musical Programme by Kismet Entertainment Group on this day and there will be no Yoga. There is going to be a sitting lunch and all members should register by getting a ticket for £1 from the main desk at the entrance.  Guests are welcome but notifications must be made early and on payment of £15.  The music will start at 11.00 am.

8).  Indian High Commission has arranged a grand Independence Day programme on Sunday 21st Aug at the Indian Gymkhana, Isleworth.  All are invited but should register online.  There will be Cultural items and free food for all.  Mahavir Foundation will be presenting a cultural item.

9).  Please note (as announced several times before) that if you want to do Yoga on the floor, you must use Yoga mats and also avoid socks for safety reasons.

10).  American and Australian scientists have investigated the impact exercise had on heart disease, strokes, diabetes, Breast Cancer and Bowel Cancer and have advised that people should be doing either 6¼ hours of vigorous activity or 12½ hours of moderate exercise a week (the WHO had only told people to perform 30 min of exercise daily).
