1). Manishaben gave good health tips on Arthritis. Many thanks to her.

2). DONATIONS : * Today’s Special lunch and Ice Cream is sponsored by Ramaben and Jayantbhai Doshi on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary and Jayantbhai’s completion of 15 years of retirement. They were very fortunate to celebrate their Golden Anniversary in India on 3rd Dec with friends and relatives. Our heartiest congratulations and Best Wishes to them. We pray that they enjoy many more anniversaries to come.

3). After lunch, we will have a special programme and at Tea Time, Kendra will distribute the Ice Cream sponsored by Ramaben and Jayantbhai.

After lunch a programme in celebration of the Golden Wedding Anniversary of Ramaben and Jayantbhai was held.
Today, for the first time our usual gathering passed the 225 mark and several members stayed behind after lunch to enjoy the programme.
Our President – Baburai Shah gave an interesting highlight of the time Jayantbhai’s ‘kankotri’ was written in Nairobi over 50 years ago and the details of the wedding. He also gave a brief introduction of the couple and gave them Kendra’s Best Wishes and Heartiest Congratulations.

Then, a hilarious talk was given on how the couple met 50 years ago, the couple having reached a milestone which not many reach – with both enjoying good health and still offering their services to the community at large. They had passed the half a century mark together and everyone adored them. They had so many memories to treasure, the wonderful times they had shared – 50 years and still together. Both of them can look back with happiness and pride upon the fifty cherished years they have spent side by side and seeing every memory of the dreams they shared having come true. Jayantbhai had given a lot of voluntary service to various organisations including the Navnat Vanik Association, and specially producing the monthly newsletter – Navnat Darpan for over 30 years, which had so many interesting and useful topics in those days – like marriages and customs attached with it, funerals, lack of discipline at functions, appeal for unity, social reforms etc. His newsletter was eagerly awaited in Mombasa and Nairobi every month.

Jayantbhai's cousin - Girish in India - had written a wonderful 'certificate of appreciation' to the couple in beautiful Gujarati prose highlighting their achievements, the work they were doing and congratulating them. This was read to the members who praised the wording highly.

Jasuben Sheth then gave a hilarious talk on the couples wedding, recited some beautiful poetic verses and then with the help of Purnimaben Meshwani and Mradulaben Kothari sang some ‘lagan na gito’ and other songs and wishing the couple a very Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary. This was very well done and everyone enjoyed the same.

Everyone then enjoyed the Ice Cream.
