ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 15th OCTOBER 2015
1). It is with deep regret we have to inform you that : *The mother of our members – Sobhagbhai and Dinesh Zaverchand Shah - (Maniben Zaverchand Shah) passed away on Sunday at the age of 98 years.
* Also the sister of our member – Jitendra Damani – Arunaben Udani passed away in Rajkot at the age of 73 years. She was the wife of Vinodbhai Udani who was the President of NVA for several years.
Our condolence to the families and we pray that the souls of the deceased rests in eternal peace.

3). Earlier we talked about the Diwali programme at Trafalgar Square last Sunday. This was attended by tens of thousands of people as the weather was sunny and the programme with all dances and garbas was highly commended by all. Our member – Lalit Mehta also took part in the Garba. He is also connected with police and security.
4). The news has just been received that the High Court has ruled that Bridge cannot be considered as a sport.
5). After lunch today we will have garba and Dandiya raas to celebrate Navratri and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve tea and biscuits. Everyone is requested to go down in the opposite Hall after their lunch, where all are requested to DO GARBA UNTIL YOUR TANTIYA BECOMES GANTHIYA.
6). Next Thurs - 22nd Oct also we will celebrate Navratri with garbas. However we will have Yoga as usual.
7). 38 of us went to see the Friendship matinee show of 50 years of James Bond music at the Royal Albert Hall on last Friday and had a wonderful time. The music by the London Philharmonic Orchestra was fantastic.
8). The Group who went to the Manor House trip last week had a very enjoyable time. It was unfortunate that one of our members – Anilbhai Gandhi had a fall and was later taken to the Hospital and had to be operated for hip bone split. We pray that he recovers soon. Also there was a Bowling competition which the Group won. Our congratulations. The trip made a little surplus.
9). Please note that as our Hindu New Year falls on Thurs – 12th Nov, we will meet on Wed – 11th Nov- on Diwali day, when we will have a music band with full day musical programme with garba. There will be a Special menu and no Yoga on that day. A few Guests will be allowed at £15.
10). Please renew your membership for 2016, by submitting duly completed form with your payment of £90 to Punambhai Patwa. Remember the deadline is 15th December. If you do not intend to renew your membership, please let us know. Also please ensure to fill your current contact details in the form.
11). If you are shopping at SAINSBURY’S and would like to join in the scheme whereby NVK will get 4% on the gross amount of the shopping and if you need any help or clarification, please contact Jayantbhai Doshi or Baburai Shah.
12). Mahavir Foundation will celebrate ‘Ayambil Holi’ at Kenton Deraser from 19th Oct for 9 days. There will be ‘Pravachan and Vyakhyan’ daily from 8.15 to 9.15pm. Those who would like to take part should register their names at the Deraser. You can also sponsor the whole Ayambil. More details from Vinodbhai Kapashi.
13). Everyone, including guests, are requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Pass.
14). Jasuben Sheth announced that we intend to do a drama connected with Alzheimer and Dementia in future and those intending to take part should give their names to Vinodbhai Kapashi or her. Participants must be prepared to devote time and come for all the practises.
