NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 23rd MARCH 2017
1). Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost their loved ones in yesterday’s terrorist attack at Westminster. We are proud of the brave policeman – PC Palmer who gave up his life safeguarding the greatest democracy in the world and also for the innocent people who passed away in the attack. We will now observe a minute’s silence to mark the tragedy and pray for the deceased’s souls to rest in eternal peace and also for early recovery of those who are critical in Hospital.
2). It is with a deep regret and sadness that we have to inform the news of ‘Arihantsaran’ of Rameshchandra Amratlal Shah – Age 81- who passed away on 16th March. He was the husband of our member – Vidyamati Shah. On behalf of Kendra we offer our condolences to the family and pray to Lord Mahavir to rest the deceased’s soul in eternal peace. The funeral will be held on Tues – 21/3 at 4.00pm at the Hendon Crematorium.
3). Today’s warm up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai Shah and we had Bhavnaben for the last time today to conduct the Yoga. She made everyone to cut the logs with force, made fierce Lions, and conducted Yoga for the internal organs. All the time she made everyone laugh. Many thanks to both of them.
4). After lunch today we will have cooking demonstration by Ramaben J. Doshi and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits. Several members had remained after lunch to see Ramaben’s demonstration of the preparation of special “chevdo” with cereals and also “Badam pak”. Everyone was then given a plateful of the “chevdo” and a piece of the “badam pak” to taste. Both these were very delicious. Jasuben Sheth and Ellaben Shah held in the preparation. Many thanks to all the ladies.
5). Next Thurs – 30th March we will have a programme “Loota loot – a memory game”.
6). Our Annual General Meeting will be held this year on 6th and 13th April and we are having elections for 15 committee members. The elected committee will then choose the office bearers. Any member interested in joining the committee and who is willing to devote time and take up responsibility should complete the Nomination Form available at the Main Table.
7). Those who are interested in joining the Potters Resort trip should fill the Form available on the Main Table.
8). Remember that the Summer Time (Daylight Savings Time) begins this Sunday- 26th March at 1.00am in the morning when clocks are turned forward one hour. So change
