NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS & PROGRAMME ON THUR - 24/08/23


1). President - Vinod Parekh announced : a) We are back to our caterers - Meera from today.
b). We have started to receive donations for our 'Raksha Bandhan & Musical programme and an anonymous member has donated £35.  Any more donations are most welcome.  
c). Next Thursday our Raksha Bandhan programme will begin at 11.00 till 11.30 am when the music will start.  Doors in the large Hall will open after 10.20 am and no one will be allowed into the Hall before that.  On your arrival you will Register and surrender your Ticket.  In exchange, you will be given a Table number where you must sit.  There will be 35 Tables - each with 10 seats. You cannot sit on any other Table.  The idea is to have a smooth movement and no reservations.  Your Guests will sit on the same Table. So far 354 members and guests have booked their tickets.
d). The Volunteer's Table will only be for those volunteers who always come to our gatherings from 10.00 am and stay upto 4.00pm. This will not be for normal servers of lunch.
e). As announced before that we will always be open and give actual figures of sale of food items.  We collected £10 on 17/08/23, No sale on 10/08/23, £33 on 03/08/23, £15 on 27/07/23.


2). Today's Warm-up Yoga was done by Ushaben Mehta and the main Yoga was conducted by Manishaben. She conducted many Yogic poses for toning up the body joints and muscles.  Today, she stressed on how to do many poses near the wall correctly for anyone with problems in their legs. All poses are shown in the photos hereunder. She gave many health tips also. Many thanks to both of them from NVK.

3). DONATIONS : i). £51 from Manjulaben Patwa on her grand-daughter - Deeshaya Parag Patwa obtaining all 9's in her 10 GCSE today. Congratulations and Many thanks from NVK and Best Wishes for her future career. 

ii). £51 from Madhu Kothari on the occasion of her grand-son  : Krish passing his A levels exam with good grades and grand son : Mihir passed his GCSE exams with 9 A stars and one A. Congratulations and Many thanks from NVK and Best Wishes for their  future careers. 
iii). £ 35 from an Anonymous donor for our Music & Raksha Bandhan programme.  NVK's many thanks. 
iv). £31 from Jayotiben H Vibhakar on  her late husband - Hasrikant Vibhakar's first 'Tithi'.  Many thanks and we pray that his soul rests in eternal peace. 
v). Many Packets of Biscuits from Sushilaben Vadher & friends.  NVK's many thanks to all.

4). After lunch from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm we will have 'Antakshri' programme and
as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide Tea/Coffee and the sponsored Biscuits.  (
(Today's Lunch Menu from Meera Caterers included : "Bundi". "Khaman Dhokra", 'Fur fur' and Maag etc )

The Antakshri programme began at 2.00pm and Mahesh Savadia divided members into Groups and he gave everyone a chance to sing an appropriate song.  Many members sang a few lines of the songs beginning with the last song's last word.  Members enjoyed the programme which ended at 3.00 pm

I5). Next Thurs – 31/08/23 , we are having our full day Musical Programme.  At 11.00 am we will have Raksha Bandhan and there will be no Yoga. Soon after 'Raksha Bandhan' we will have the music band with their melodious tunes. There will be a Special meal.  Today is the last day to book your tickets for the programme.     

6). Our Heartiest congratulations to India's wonderful achievement when it become the first country in the world to land on the South side of the Moon at exactly predicted time of 6.04 pm. Most thanks go to ISRO scientists for achieving this record and flutter the "Tiranga" on the Moon. We hope and pray that the Rover will fulfil all the tasks, collect samples of earth etc and return safely.
