NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 29th SEPT 2016
1). DONATIONS: * Home-made ‘Pendas’ distributed to all members at lunch was sponsored by Dr Mahendra Vora and Meenaben Vora on the occasion of the birth of their grand-daughter named – Senaya to proud parents –Meetul and Sangita Vora.
* Today’s biscuits at Tea Time sponsored by Sobhagchand Zaverchand Shah and Induben Shah.
*£25 from Hasmukhrai & Jasvantiben Kothari on the birth of a grand-son : Leo to their son – Ravi and daughter in law –Reena.
* £21 from Daxaben Arunkant Doshi in living memory of her late husband – Arunkant – who would have celebrated his 80th birthday on 24/9.

2). After lunch today we will have an interesting game of Cricket Teaser and as usual, at tea time, Kendra will provide tea and the sponsored biscuits.
Jasuben gave the names of the two Captains of the teams – NVK Team A : Praful Shah and NVK Team B : Dr. Mahendra Vora. The two Umpires were Dr. Harshadbhai Sanghrajka and Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi and the two scorers were : Punambhai and Jyotiben Patwa. Time Keeper was Dhirubhai Galani.
Dinesh Zaverchand Shah gave full details of how the game will be played. It was a very interesting game with intelligent questions to be answered in 20 seconds by the Batsman after the Bowler drawing a card from the four bowls and selecting a number which Jasuben referred to the pre-set question.
Team B won the Toss and put Team A into batting and the team scored 26 runs All out after some good bowling by Team B. The team had batted up to 3.00pm when tea was served and the game adjourned and Team B will bat on 13th Oct.
(When Team A Captain was asked what was their strategy for bowling on the turning pitch, he said they will practice hard and said that their opening bowler will be Dinesh Tarachand Shah who is ranked as the best spin bowler and currently taken over 200 wickets this season).
3). Next Thurs – 6th Oct we will have Navratri garbas. There will be Chair Yoga only. Members requested to wear colourful dresses.
4). On Thurs – 13th Oct Dr. Pragnaben Mandalia has arranged a ‘Talking Therapy workshop on the topic : Anxiety and Depression at 10.30am on the upper Seminar Room.
5). This is a reminder to the Managing Committee that a meeting will be held on Tues- 4th Oct – 10.00 am at Sattavis Patidar Centre. Please arrive in time.
6). Navnat Vanik Association is organising free Laxmi Pujan and Gala Dinner & Dance for £15 at Navnat Centre on 30th October. 2 persons per business or household can take part in the Laxmi Pujan. For more details contact – Bhogilal Sanghvi.
7). Our Hon. Secretary – Jayantbhai Doshi wll now give a talk on Bowling and Bridge.
8). Jayantbhai Doshi informed members that he has received a request for Bowling coaching. He requested for other names from members who are interested. Similarly he requested names for those who are interested in coaching for Bridge.
9). Jasuben Sheth gave more details of the cricket teaser to be played after lunch. and read out the names of the members who had given their names for participation in the two teams
