ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 2nd JULY 2015
1.Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Britons and others who lost their lives in the massacre of tourists in Tunisia. We are sad that so many brilliant persons lost their lives and which has affected so many families here. We will observe a minute’s silence to pray for their souls.
2. DONATIONS : * Today’s lunch with ‘Chaas’ is sponsored by Kantaben Ramanlal Mehta to celebrate ‘Adhik Maas’- Purshottam mahino. Her family wishes all Jai Shree Krishna and good health. A donation of £30 has been received from her. Kendra’s Best Wishes and many thanks to her.

3. After lunch today we will have a talk by Amita Shah from Harrow Council, on social service benefits and the new changes in the laws pertaining to the benefits and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide tea and biscuits. ( Several members had stayed to listen to this very Amitaben, who gave a very inofrmative talk on all the available benefits etc. Several members raised questions wanting to know specific details on benefits.)
4. Next Thursday – 9th July, we will have a Specialist Consultant from the Northwick Park Hospital who will give a talk on Osteoporosis. If you have any particular question, please prepare this in advance to save time. There will be a discussion session also.
5. Our next film show – film TANU WEDS MANU RETURN - will be on Tues – 7th July at Cineworld, Staples Corner at 11.00 am. As the prices for the tickets have been raised, our subsidised price for members will be £2 pp and for non-members £3 pp. The price with lunch – at Rams Restaurant, Kenton - will be £6 for members and £8 for non-members. Please book your tickets on the Main Table –with Punambhai Patwa.
6. We have Yoga blocks for sale at £5. If you want to buy the same, please approach Jayantbhai Doshi.
7. A reminder to all the Managing Committee members – tomorrow – Friday there will be a meeting here at 10.00 am. Please arrive in time.
8. The Newsletter for the month of July has been forwarded to members by email. A few hard copies are available for those who have no access to emails.
9. Navant Vanik Association has organised a ‘Janmashtami Mela’ on Sunday – 30th August from noon to 8.00 pm. There will be many food stalls and entertainment. For booking stalls contact Ramesh Shah.
10. Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table. Guests are requested to obtain their Pass from Vinod Parekh.
11. Dr. Harshadbhai Sanghrajka from the Jainpedia announced that an interactive workshop on practical Jainism in collaboration with the Oshwal Ass. Of UK will be held at the Oshwal Ekta Centre on Sunday -19th July from1pm to 6pm. The workshop will discuss the significance of Jain rituals.
12. Vinod Parekh announced the following : * Our mid-Summer Musical Programme will take place on Thurs -13th Aug. This will be a full day musical programme with sitting lunch. As usual members will have to pay £1 to register to monitor the number of people attending and for catering purposes. Guests are welcome – charge £15. Please collect your tickets from next Thurs. On this day we will have a grand celebration to celebrate our achievement of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services. A special musical band has been invited and they have promised a memorable day.
