2). After lunch today we will have Whist Drive session and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will serve tea and biscuits.
3). Next two Thursdays – 10th and 17th is during Paryushan and we will meet as usual. HOWEVER, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING. KINDLY INFORM US.
4). Those who had joined in the film show of ‘HUMARI ADHURI KAHANI’ followed by lunch last Tues had a good time.
5). We are planning a trip to Manor House starting from Sun- 4th Oct to Fri – 9th Oct. If we book soon, we will get extra discount. If only few names are received, we will travel by cars. The cost will be around £300 to 325pp (two sharing a room). Exact cost will be worked out later. If you are interested in joining, please give your names with cheque of £200 pp to Pragnaben Mandalia. 6). There is a Friendship matinee at the Royal Albert Hall on Fri – 9th Oct at 3 pm for the show- 50 years of James Bond movies music by Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Price is &6pp payable in advance for members and non- members. Tickets will be received after a few weeks. The price includes £1 admin charge. Pls give your names to Ashokbhai Mehta with payment. 7). Newsletter for the month of September has been circulated to members by email and also uploaded on our website. A few hard copies are available for those who do not have access to emails. 8). Kendra has applied to be a Welcome Partner organisation for the Grand Community Reception in honour of H.E., The Hon. P.M. of India – Shri Narendra Modi on Friday -13th November at the Wembley Stadium. Once we are confirmed as the partner, we will be informed how members can sign up for free invitations.
9). Please do remember to join the SAINSBURY’S scheme whereby NVK will get 4% on the gross amount of the shopping. For more details or clarification contact Jayantbhai Doshi or Baburai Shah.
10). We have booked a Yoga Retreat from 11th to 16th July 2016. Keep these dates in your diary. More details will be given later.
11). Last week Oshwal Association of UK celebrated 10th anniversary of their Derasar at Potters Bar and during the celebrations, there was a play MAYA NA SUNDARI which was the main event on three days and was highly applauded. There were about 40 artistes on the stage and amongst whom were two of Kendra members. Dineshbhai Shah acted as a Jain Guru and his wife Minaben acted as Khodhia and both played good parts. We are proud of our members who have such hidden talent. I request them to stand up so that our members can applaud these hidden stars.
12). There is an Indonesian dance show of Hindu folklore called ‘Soerya Soemirat’ on Sat -5th Sept at 7.30pm at the Southbank Centre – Queen Elizabeth Hall. As usual tickets are £1. Also ‘A tribute to Ingrid Bergman’ at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday at 8.00 pm. If you are interested please contact Jayantbhai Doshi.
13). One of the member who started playing lawn bowling reports that in his latest blood tests the doctor was surprised to see his cholesterol level improved a lot and his doctor thinks this is because of playing lawn bowling.
14). Everyone, including guests, are requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Pass.
