1). President – Vinod Parekh announced : * We have noticed that since last several weeks lunch demand for Disabled persons has increased highly. We have thus streamlined the service for lunch calling for Disabled person. We are going back to our old system and they will have to go only when their line is called up for Queuing. There will be 2/3 tables reserved for them. When they sit, the Volunteers will then serve them. Wheel Chair persons will stay where they are and lunch will be served to them. Those with Carers can go and help themselves. We request your co-operation and will give priority to special cases.

* Our one day Trip to Brighton is already one coach full and more in the second Coach. We are now calling for members who still want to join to give their names today otherwise we will start taking guests from the waiting list. Those who have already paid should collect their tickets for the Coach.


2). Today's Warm-up Yoga was done by Dineshbhai T Shah and the main Yoga by Manishaben. She conducted Yogic poses to ease pain in any part of the body after stressing on how to do it correctly. She also gave health tips. Thanks to both from NVK.

3). DONATIONS : I) “Badam Pista Barfi” for all from Urmilaben H Sanghrajka to celebrate special achievement by her grandson Shreyesh – the eldest son of her son - Mehool. He completed the Isle of Wight challenge around the whole island of 106 km in 24 hours, walking day and night. He raised about £1000 for the Mental Health Charity. NVK's many thanks and congratulations to the family.
We have another good news about her family. Her son and Arvindbhai & Jayshreeben's nephew – Dr Mehool Sanghrajka has been invited to join in the Coronation Ceremony of HM The King at the Abbey Church of Westminster on Sat - 6th May, where over 2200 Guests from all over the world will attend. NVK's Congratulations for getting this honour.

ii) Home made eggless various Cup Cakes for all and a Large Cake to NVK to be cut ceremoniously for distribution to all from Krishnaben and Kiritbhai Mehta to celebrate the Coronation of HM The King Charles III as part of today's programme. NVK's Heartiest Thanks to the family.


Iii) £151 from Ramaben Jayantilal Doshi on the occasion of the birthday of Jayantbhai on 6th May. NVK's thanks and Best Wishes and we pray that Jayantbhai will enjoy many more birthdays to come.

iv) £101 in loving memory of late Punambhai Patwa from Jyotiben Patwa family on the 1st Tithi on May 3rd. NVK' thanks and we pray for his soul to rest in peace.


4). After lunch today, we will have a grand Celebration to mark the Coronation of HM The King Charles III. At Tea Time, NVK will serve Ice Cream to all.
(Today's lunch Menu included : Habshi Halwa, Samosa, Puri, Mixed Beans shaak, Kichdi/Kadhi etc )


The programme started by Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi giving details of the past history of accession to the throne and the rise of Prince Charles from his younger days with the aid of a slide show. He also showed a photo of himself with the King. Congratulations from NVK for this rare achievement

At the entrance to the Hall there was a beautiful display on the Table by Meenaben and Rameshbhai Shah depicting the Coronation with a crown and lit with lights all around. NVK's many thanks to the couple, who have never failed to do such eye catching decorations at all our major functions. Their decoration was highly praised by all members. 

Also a Flower Pot with lovely flowers near the Display was brought by Manjuben Pindoria.  Many thanks from NVK.
                                      
A parade was then made through the Hall by the 'King' – dressed by Ramesh Shah and 'Queen' by Jyotiben Vyas with President and others.
                 

President Vinod Parekh gave a short speech that the Nation is getting ready to celebrate the Coronation at National, local and private events and the excitement is growing. The Ceremony will see His Majesty the King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort. NVK extends its Best Wishes to HM The King and The Queen and May the Almighty give him Good Health and Long Life. He also praised the participants of today's programme for giving such an enjoyable programme.

The Large Cake Cutting made at home by Krishnaben and Kirtibhai Mehta then took place and the 'King' – Rameshbhai Shah & 'Queen' - Jyotiben Vyas - cut the cake near the Stage.
                                           

In the presence of all Committee Members the cake cutting continued with Kirtibhai and Krishnaben.

All members then joined in prayers for the King and Queen.

Members then came to recite special poems or songs, some in groups to pay allegiance to the King and Queen.

Finally a group sang the National Anthem.

This was yet another programme by Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi which was highly applauded and witnessed by so many members.

All members then were served with the various eggless Cup Cakes and a slice of the large cake and the Ice Cream from NVK.
 

5). Next Thurs - 11/05/23 we will have Mother's Day Programme.
