ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURSDAY 6th AUGUST 2015

1).DONATIONS :       * ‘Chaas’ for the month of August is sponsored by Vidyaben Manharlal Mehta.                      *    Tea and Biscuits are sponsored by Seju and Priti Shah daughters of Shardaben J Shah. Many thanks to all of them from Kendra. 
            *  £51 from Rasilaben & Prabhudasbhai Shah on the occasion of their grandson’s success in passing the final exams in Pharmacy and their son – Atulkumar and his wife – Alpa celebrating their wedding anniversary.  Kendra’s heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all of them.
           *  Neetaben Sailesh Chotai distributed chocolates at the entrance to all those who attended today’s gathering on the occasion of her wedding anniversary.  Our heartiest congratulations and best wishes to her.

2). Today’s lunch is sponsored by the family of Rasilaben and Prabhudasbhai Shah on the occasion of their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.  After lunch there was a celebration for their special anniversary, which was a milestone in their life, as Nitin Mehta who was scheduled to come and talk on Vegetarianism did not come.

After the delicious special ‘shrikhand’ puri, lunch and special token gifts to everyone present from the Prabhudasbhai family, there was a celebration programme on stage, when both Rasilaben & Prabhudasbhai were felicitated by all. Jayantbhai read the special card received from the Queen on the wonderful occasion of their Diamond Anniversary.  Thereafter Jasuben Sheth and Nimaben Kakkad recited special poems for the couple.  This was followed by the Prabhudasbhai’s family presenting dances with a wonderful Tae-kwan-do dance.  Kendra wishes the couple a very Best Happy Diamond Anniversary and pray that they enjoy many more anniversaries to come.

3)  All the 34 persons who had joined in the open –top tour of London on Golden Tours Bus last Tuesday had a very enjoyable time admiring the various London landmarks. Since the weather was fantastic, there were thousands of tourists everywhere. Thanks to Ellaben Shah for organising the programme.

4) Last week we had received the QAVS award – the crystal orb and the certificate signed by the Queen.  These will be circulated to all members to see.  Please ensure that the glass orb is kept on the tray so that it does not fall and kindly return to our Secretary – Jayantbhai after all have seen these.

5). Next Thursday – 13th August we have organised a whole day Musical Programme with sitting lunch and there will be no Yoga on that day.  The programme will start at 11.00 am. Today is the last day for registering your name with a payment of £1 and no more names will be accepted afterwards. On this day we will have a grand celebration for our achievement of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services.  Music is being provided by Nituben Shah and group.
Please Note :    i) Entrance will be given to only with those presenting the special tickets at the entrance.       ii) Programme will start at 11.00 am and it is requested that you all arrive by 10.45 am and sitting will be strictly on ‘First come First Basis’ – there should be no seat reservations.  iii) Volunteers who can give their service are requested to come by 10.00 am.

6). On Tuesday – 18th Aug, we have arranged a day trip to South-end-on Sea.  The coach will depart from the Kenton Library at 8.00 am and leave from South-end-on Sea at 5.00 pm.  Cost for members and members grand-children (under12) will be £10 and £15 for guests.  Please give your names to Punambhai Patwa at the Main Desk.

7).  Please do not forget to join in a scheme whereby any shopping done at SAINSBURY’S by registered cardholders will mean NVK will get 4% on the gross amount of the shopping. Full details of how to join have been emailed to members and for more details or clarification contact Jayantbhai Doshi or Baburai Shah.

8). Newsletter for August has been forwarded to members by email.  Few hard copies are available for those who do not have access to email. This has also now been uploaded on our Website.  We have also put the photos of all our programmes on the website.

9). A stunning new exhibition  at the Brent Civic Centre, Wembley, which traces the history of Gujarat and Mumbai – age old centres of migration and trade, focusing on their remarkable links with Britain.  Exhibition features photos and stories for the last 400 years.  The timings are Mon to Fri – 8.30 am to 8.00 pm and Sat & Sun – 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

10). Everyone, including guests, is requested to sign in the Register at the Entrance Table and Guests are requested to obtain their Pass.
