The Krishna Janmashtami is an important festival to Hindus and is a most awaited and auspicious occasion. It is always celebrated with great devotion  and reverence as it marks the birth of Lord Krishna, who is revered as a symbol of divinity, love and righteousness.

Members and specially Ladies had come wearing wonderful and colourful costumes - some with Lord Krishna's favourite colour - Yellow. The Hall was decorated with ornaments that were used by Lord Krishna, such as flute, crown, curd pot.

The procession started from the main entrance with idol of baby Lord Krishna and proceeded through the length of the Hall with pomp and ceremony, everyone dancing and chanting : 'Jai Kanhya Lal ki'.  Afterwards the 'parnu with baby idol of Lord Krishna was ceremoniously kept on the decorated Table, members joined in singing songs of Lord Krishna.

Then there was 'Aarti' ceremony followed by 'Matki fod' - it symbolised the mischievous nature as he used to steal butter from earthen pots hung high above the ground. At 1.10 pm there was a break for lunch.
