1). Today's Warm-up Yoga was done by Dineshbhai T Shah and the main Yoga by Manishaben. She performed many Yogic poses to tone up the muscles of abdomen, thigh, legs and hands. She pointed out how to do these poses correctly and its benefits. Thanks to both from NVK.

2). As you all know about the horrible train accident in Odisha – Balasore – where ufortunately 275 people died and thousands are injured. We will observe a minute's silence in memory of those people.
Also we have to inform the sad news of the passing away of Himatlal Harichand Shah. He was the husband to Manjulaben – who were our members till last year and left this year due to ill health of Harichandbhai. They both joined NVK since its inception in 2007 and were regularly attending our gatherings. Late Harichandbhai unfortunately passed away just 11days short of his 100 years birthday. We pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace and we will observe a minute's silence in his memory.

3). DONATIONS : I) £61 and 3 tins of Chocolates to be given at lunch to all members, from Madhuben and Ramanbhai Shah who celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on 1st June. They have also received the congratulatory message Certificate from HM The King Charles and Queen Camilla. NVK's many thanks and Heartiest Congratulations to both and we pray that they will enjoy many more anniversaries to come.

ii) £101 from Rameshbhai and Ranjanben Sheth on the occasion of the wedding of their daughter – Dimple. NVK's many thanks, Congratulations and Best Wishes.


4). After lunch today, we have invited Nipaben Shah from India, who will conduct a game of “Kar-Darshanam”, in which she will show us mudra and its significance, proverbs related to our hands and many things in the form of entertaining game.
At Tea Time, NVK will serve Tea, Coffee and the sponsored Biscuits.

 (Today's Lunch menu included “Topra Paak”, Samosa, puri, 'maag' etc).

 Afternoon programme started at 2.00 pm and Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi gave an introduction of the  guest – Nipaben Shah from India.    

Nipaben started the programme giving full details of the fingers in our hands and the various mudras. She then started to involve all the members who had gathered in the Hall by showing the various points in our hands, how to fold various fingers etc. She even played games with all members by reciting numbers.

Also she called 4 ladies to the round table with their partner lady to do some 'mehendi' artwork on their friends' hands . All these ladies were then called to the stage to show the mehendi artwork and everyone chose the best artwork done on the hands of Chhayaben N Savadia done by Niruben Doshi. NVK's congratulations to both.

Similarly in another game she called some more ladies with a partner lady to a table and gave a long strip of crape paper tassel to wrap the same as a design on their partner.

Songs pertaining to hands - 'haath' were also sung.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the programme which maintained attention and participation till the end and praised with claps all the time to Nipaben's games etc. This was a very good programme enjoyed by a large group of members.
A vote of thanks was given and Secretary – Purnimaben Mehta gave a token of appreciation to Nipaben.


5). Next Thurs - 15/06/23 we will have a programme of Bingo with Gujarati songs and garbas.

6). Secretary – Purnimaben Mehta announced that our President Vinod Parekh will be coming later on.
She announced about the “Pratishta Mahotsav” of the new Jain Centre London in Colindale from  23rd to 27th August 2023 and their need for volunteers to help out on all the days. If anyone is  interested please feel free to register your names by clicking on the following link :

7). Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi gave details of the afternoon programme where we have invited Nipaben Shah from India. Next week we will have Bingo with Gujarati Garbas aad songs and on 22/06/23 we are going to have a 'Natak' of Three Generations which will tell us the story of generations in India, Africa and England.
