NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA – ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS - 8TH SEPT 2022
1). The President – Vinod Parekh announced : (I) Scotland Trip – We are very sorry to inform that we were forced to cancel our trip due to poor response from members. At one stage 37 persons had given their names but by last Thursday, the number was reduced to 29 because of cancellations. With only 29, the cost would have gone up per person. As a result we had to cancel it. Once again we are sorry to all those who had registered their names. We thank them for their support.
(ii). Forthcoming events – On Thurs - 29th Sept we will be celebrating Navratri Festival here in 27 Patidar Centre. We have invited a lady singer to sing Raas/Garba songs for us. This will be a full day programme, so get ready for the event.
(iii). Our annual 'Diwali Dhamaka' programme is scheduled for 20th October from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm. This will take place here in a bigger hall. This will be a seating event for all and as usual the tickets will be issued from next Tuesday at the Main Desk at the Entrance. The subsidised charge for members is £5 and Guests £15. There will be seating arrangements as we have done in past – like we did at VIP Lounge. More details will be given later. The live Music Group is Marina and Party. If any member would like to sponsor any of the following, please let us know. The list is : soft drinks, sweets, good prizes for Raffle – one prize will be drawn from the tickets sold.

3). Today's Warm-up Yoga was conducted by Jayeshbhai T Shah and the main Yoga by Manishaben. She performed Yoga postures to strengthen the cervical spine, lower back and all joints. Kendra's many thanks to both of them.
4). We are pleased to inform that our member – Sushilaben Dinkerrai Seth has reached the milestone young age of 90 on 5th Sept 22. She has been our member since inception of NVK in 2007 and has regularly attended our activities. As usual, we are going to bestow a 'Saal' to her to celebrate this unique occasion and our President and Secretary will do the honours with Purnimaben Mehta and Ellaben Shah.
Before the 'saal' presentation, Sushilaben's husband – Dinkerrai Seth was called to the stage and Ramaben Doshi and Purnimaben Meswani sang the 'Tum jeo hajaro saal'

Then, Sushilaben thanked for the presentation and sang the kirtan 'Maru jivan sughandhi bane' and recited the Navkar Mantra.
5. DONATIONS : Today's lunch has been sponsored by the family members of Dinkerrai Seth on the occasion of Sushilaben reaching the milestone birthday. The family has also donated £51 to NVK Many thanks from Kendra.

6). As per Notice of AGM sent to members, we will start the meeting at 2.00 pm. Full reports from the President, Secretary, Treasurer will be given and Accounts presented. Members can ask for clarification on any item and after the accounts are passed, there will be AOB and names from the floor for the nominations will be taken.
7).On Tues - 13th Sept, we will continue with the Agenda of the meeting and if more than 15 names are received as nominations for the Managing Committee, there will be an election conducted by an independent Supervisor. Afterwards, names of elected committee will be announced and they will retire in the upstairs Hall to select all the MC posts. The elected President will come and give is address.
At 2.00 pm the AGM started with the peace stavan -'Maitri Bhaav nu pavitra zarnu'

All reports were given and the Accounts were presented and after discussion and clarification, the same were passed. In AOB, members asked questions to which answers were given. When nominations from the floor was requested, no more names were received and the 15 names of nominees were read. The meeting will continue on Tuesday as per the Agenda.
