NAVJIVAN VADIL KENDRA- ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THURS – 9th FEB 2017
It is with deep sorrow that we have to inform the sad news of ‘Arihantsaran’ of our founding member – SHANTILAL JECHAND MEHTA – Age 94 - who passed away yesterday – 8/2. He was our member until 2015. When he was in Uganda he played Hockey for the National Uganda team. We pray to Lord Mahavir to rest his soul in eternal peace and to give courage to the family to bear the loss with fortitude. Our sincere condolences to his family. Prathna Sabha to be held today at Navnat, Hayes from 8.00 to 10.00pm
1). Kendra’s heartiest felicitations to HM The Queen on celebrating Sapphire Jubilee – she has become the first British Monarch to have reigned over 65 years. We pray that “Long may she reign over us”
2).Today, Dineshbhai T Shah and Gauriben Sheth conducted the Warm up Yoga and Manishaben conducted hips, buttocks and thigh muscles tune up postures. Many thanks to all.
3). DONATIONS : £21 from Kumudlal Mehta on the occasion of his birthday, which is today. Everyone joined in singing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song. Kendra’s heartiest congratulations and we pray that he enjoys many more birthdays to come.
4). After lunch we will have a programme on “Kahevato” - ‘Gujarati Proverbs’ and as usual at Tea Time, Kendra will provide the sponsored tea and biscuits.
5). At last we are now only seven days away from our greatest celebration, for which we have been waiting for the last ten months. Next Thurs – 16th Feb, we will be celebrating Kendra’s 10th Anniversary with a grand programme. Please come before by 10.45am as you will have to search for your seating arrangements. Our programme will begin at 11.00 am. Remember to come in the dress code and also keep your ticket counterfoil as it will be entered for the Grand Raffle Draw. There are seven extremely good prizes for the same.
6). On Thurs – 23rd we will have a programme on ‘Mahashivratri’.
7). Navnat Vanik Bhagini Samaj have organised a special Health Programme on 4th March from 2.00 to 6.00pm followed by dinner at the Navnat, Hayes. For Tkts at £7 before 24/2, contact Purnimaben Mehta or Bhartiben Shah.
8). Sattavis Patidar Centre has organised “Mahashivratri Pooja & Yagna on 24/2 from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm at this place. To take part £150.
9). Vinod Parekh announced the names of all members who are attending the Lions function as announced before. He also announced about the next week’s programme and requested all to come in time and how to get their seating arrangements. Lift can be used by only disabled. Also park as per the Parking Wardens instructions.
