KENDRA’S SUMMER MUSICAL PROGRAMME - 23RD AUGUST 2016
Today we had our grand full day Summer musical programme by Kismet Entertainment Group. There was no Yoga. The volunteers had come before 9.30am in the morning to decorate the Hall and Tables and make all the necessary arrangements.
As members arrived, they were given chocolates and after signing in the Register, they entered the Hall and took their preferred seats on the round tables. It was yet another houseful gathering with 280 members and guests in attendance.
Everyone arrived wearing smart dresses and colourful saris and then set down on the round tables which were decorated nicely. The Hall and the Stage, too, was beautifully decorated by the Ladies of Kendra. The programme started at 11.00 am and it was good to see everyone in a happy mood and enjoying the fantastic music. It was unfortunate that the lady member of the group did not turn up as was promised. However another male singer from Rajkot came later on and gave jokes and sang songs. The musical duo sang some oldies and few new songs. The unforgettable tunes from the 'Bhuli Bishri Yadeein'.were highly applauded by all, specially the Gujarati oldies and most of the time several people joined in clapping and even singing with the melodious tunes and several requests for specific songs were given and sung by the duo.. Many members joined in dancing and perform garbas to all their favourite tunes.
A delicious special lunch was served to all within 45 minutes. It included 'churma na ladu', 'gota bhajia', 'khandvi' etc. and this was highly appreciated by all and there was plenty to eat. At 2.45 pm, 'Kesar ice cream' was served to all and most got two pots.
We are proud of all the volunteers who put in a lot of effort to make this programme a great success and they deserve our heartfelt thanks. Well done.

A special request was made to all members to try and bring an advert for our 10th Anniversary Brochure.
We will meet as usual on next Thurs- 1st Sept (Paryushan Week). There will be Yoga and after lunch we will have an interesting talk by Mr Chauhan, who is going to talk on Raw Food Diet and its benefits, and how he cured himself and others.
