3. Member Assistance and Safety
  • Blocking the walkway - members were reminded to not block walk ways and position their chairs for yoga. This is health and safety issue and it makes it difficult fir other members to use the walkway for exit or restroom use. Once members are alerted that they are obstructing the walkway, and asked to move they should oblige without creating a fuss.

  • Members were kindly advised not to assist others with severe disabilities or illness in finding or moving chairs, especially into specific positions. While this is often done with good intentions, it may pose a health and safety risk.
If any issues arise, liability would fall on NVK, which we must avoid. Members with disabilities, along with their partners or carers, should seek assistance only from committee members, who will do their best to help safely.
  • Please take note that seats reserved for the differently abled members is only for those with wheelchairs and walking frames and NOT for those with walking sticks.

4. Whats App registration - Mandatory.
  • Everyone attending must register for catering purpose.
  • Members were once again reminded to vote in NVK registration group poll by every Monday.
  • Following last week's announcement of the importance of registration, there was an improvement in registration. Members were urged to keep it up. We carried out verification on this Thursday - 4 registere on Tuesday and 8 registered on Tuesday - after the deadline date. During this verification we have identified 3 members who had not registered on the whats app but were regular attendants on Thursday. Your registration on whats app group will help us get accurate estimate of attendees each week, allowing us to make proper arrangements for catering purpose. Therefore, all members are requested to register their attendance by every Monday.

5.  Afternoon programme - On Thursday 14th May, we had invited representatives from the Met Police to give us a talk on Knife Crime and Fraud prevention. Mr Jitendra Sinh Solankki from the police department and one more lady came to enlighten us on a few important aspects. Mr Solanki's talk was interesting, informative and very useful for the senior citizens. He advised us on how to guard our assets and what sort of Passwords we should use. Ms Indie asked people to register their names for the MET-ENGAGE news portal. This portal keeps us informed about the local activities.
