1. SPONSORSHIP -
- We welcome sponsors for chaas-£60 per month. Please give your name to Ella Shah at the front desk.
- We also welcome lunch sponsors-£551 for full standard lunch. Please speak to the President.
2. Trip to Wales
We are very grateful for the strong interest shown by members in registering for the Wales trip. The trip has now been oversubscribed, and as previously mentioned, we are limited to one coach with a capacity of 53 seats, which is now fully booked.
We explored options to secure additional accommodation but, unfortunately, were unsuccessful. We sincerely apologise to members who were unable to secure a place. We hope to organise similar trips in the future and appreciate your continued enthusiasm.
Please note that the hotel accommodation for this trip will be basic, and members are advised not to expect high-quality or 4-star standards, as these are not included within the cost.
3. Member Assistance and Safety
Members are kindly advised not to assist others with severe disabilities or illness in finding or moving chairs, especially into specific positions. While this is often done with good intentions, it may pose a health and safety risk.
If any issues arise, liability would fall on NVK, which we must avoid. Members with disabilities, along with their partners or carers, should seek assistance only from committee members, who will do their best to help safely.
4. Forthcoming Events
* Thursday 14th May – A talk by the Metropolitan Police on fraud and cyber security
* Thursday 21st May – Chair yoga session: Afternoon - Bhajans with music. This is part of sponsored lunch, generously offered by a member in celebration of the month of Parshotam. Further details will follow.
5. Anniversary Celebration
At teatime, cream crackers were kindly donated and served by Lalit and Chandrika Mehta in celebration of their 45th wedding anniversary, which coincided with the day of Akhatrij.
On behalf of the Kendra, we extend our sincere thanks and congratulations.
6 Afternoon Activity
Members enjoyed participating in a Whist Drive game during the afternoon session. The results will be announced next week.
