1). President - Vinod Parekh announced : i) Today we started the Digital entry into our gatherings at Sattavis Patidar Centre by swiping your new Membership Card. Hope you liked the new system and kindly bring the card with you at our gatherings. Today was a trial session and that is why we also wrote in the Register. With your co-operation we will have a new beginning. Those who have not collected their cards should go to the Main Desk for it. Also kindly pass the message to all members who do not come regularly to come and check their details and collect the card.
ii) Some more new members have joined from today and we request them to stand up so others know you. We need your support and those who have any good suggestions etc, please let us know.
iii) Any donations for the monthly "Chaas" at Lunch time, Biscuits at Tea Time, or any occasions or celebrations in your family is most welcome.
iv) On 15th February, we have a programme of Bajans and Kirtans in the afternoon session. Our member - Jyotiben Gandhi has sponsored the lunch and afternoon programme on that day in loving memory of her late husband - D. Anilkumar Gandhi. Guests are welcome on payment of £10. However we must be informed, latest by 10th February, their names so that we can adequately make arrangements for catering.
v) Any members who have not taken their passport size photos for the new Cards, should go and take the same from Chimanbhai Sheth.
2). We will start with some sad news. It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing away of our member - Vanitaben S Mehta - Age 87 - on 28/01/24. She was the wife of our member - Suryakantbhai Laxmichand Mehta. Both had joined NVK since its inception in 2007. Late Vanitaben was a very friendly and soft spoken person, always looking forward to join in our gatherings, trips etc. On behalf of all the members we offer our sincere condolences to the family members and pray to Lord Mahavir to rest her soul in eternal peace and give courage to bear the loss with fortitude.
We shall now observe a minute's silence to pray for her soul.

3).Today we had Yoga by Rupaliben Kanade, helped by Jayeshbhai T. Shah and Shantaben. She conducted many new Yogic poses to tone up body muscles and joints, she performed 'Savasan' and also Surya Namaskar. Many thanks from NVK.
4). DONATIONS : £101 from Jyotiben Patwa in celebration of the arrival of her first Grand son - to Purni & Sharmil Patwa. NVK's heartiest Congratulations and Best Wishes to the family.
5). After lunch today we are having a Guest Speaker from Brent Carers Centre - Mr Pourush Dixit, who is a Community Engagement & Development Officer. He will talk on Parkinson's and related help towards it.
(Today's Lunch Menu included: Shrikhand/Puri, Samosa, Chaana/Vaal nu saakh, Daal/Bhaat etc)
As usual at Tea Time, NVK will provide Tea/Coffee and the sponsored Biscuits.
The afternoon programme started with Secretary - Purnimaben Mehta giving an introduction to our Guest Speakers.
First we had Nina Vora from the Brent Carers Centre, who spoke on supporting unpaid carers and full details of how anyone looking after someone who is disabled, frail, has a mental health issue etc can get support from Brent.
Then then the second Guest speaker - Mr Pourush Dixit who is a Community Engagement & Development Officer gave details on Parkinson's and help towards it. He said that Parkinson's is a progressive disorder that effects the nervous systems and parts of the body controlled by the nerves. some symptoms start early. Those who are interested can also attend the Group sessions held monthly over a cup of tea.
The Hall was full of members present to hear the interesting topics and everyone sat with pin drop silence to hear the Speakers. Questions from the members were answered by the Guest Speakers.
President - Vinod Parekh thanked them for educating us on a very important issues in our lives and Tokens of appreciation from NVK were given.
