1). President - Vinod Parekh announced : i) I hope all members had splendid time during the Diwali and New Year celebrations with family and friends.
ii). We had a fantastic Diwali Dhamaka programme at the Blue Room and I would like to thank all the members and guests who sent messages by phone, What's App and Emails that they had really enjoyed the whole set up of the event. It took a lot of hard work behind all arrangements of the Programme and we in the Executive Committee feel so proud that our efforts have been successful. Hopefully next year, too, our venue will be Blue Room.
iii). At Blue Room, there was one thing which we felt so proud of you all. Their Manager - Mr. Mahesh pointed out that the behaviour of our members was outstanding and when I asked him what had happened that he was very happy. He then pointed at the queue for Tea/Coffee and said people usually rush towards the serving table and there is no system at all. But our members got in the line and that made their staff serve us better in re-fillings. Ultimately this mattered much as the staff served us well.
iv). Our new Plastic ID Membership cards are in advance stage and soon we will start renewal of membership.
Today's Warm up Yoga was conducted by Ravjibhai Pindoria and the main Yoga by Manishaben. Many thanks to both from NVK.
2). Sad news - Our member -Manjulaben Gokaldas Chotai - age 84- passed away on 10/11/23. She had joined NVK since 2008 and most of the time joined in all our activities, gatherings, trips etc. She was a soft spoken cheerful person always looking forward to join in our Thursday gatherings. She enjoyed meeting friends for fellowship. On behalf of all NVK members we offer our sincere condolences to the family members of late Manjulaben and pray to Lord Krishna to rest the deceased's soul in eternal peace and give courage to the family to bear the loss with fortitude.
We will observe a minute's silence to pray for her soul.
3). After lunch today we will play Bollywood Bingo and as usual at Tea Time, NVK will provide Tea/Coffee and the sponsored biscuits.
4). Reminder : Next week we are meeting on Tues - 21/11/23 and NOT on Thursday.
