Dear members,

1. Our member, Yashwantbhai Mandalia celebrated his 90th Birthday on Tuesday 9 September. it was his wish not to be honoured with a Shawl and so the President on behalf of NVK congratulated Yashwantbhai on his milestone birthday. He informed the members that Yashwantbhai always provides seva by helping with laying out the chairs at lunchtime, then serving at lunchtime and he alsovolunteers to bring the yogurt every Thursday. A happy birthday song was sung by committee members.

2. A gentle reminder that next Thursday 18 September we are closed as the halls are not available. Therefore, we will meet on Tuesday 16 as usual with our normal activities. Members were requested to register their attendance on watts app as soon as possible. So that we have an early indication of how many members are attending. Dial-A-Ride members please book your dates accordingly and inform others that may not be aware of this change.

3. As you know Navratri festival is approaching soon. On Thursday 25 September we will celebrate Navratri at Sattavis Patidar Hall. It will be a full day programme of Ras Garba. We have arranged for musicians. Charges will be £ 1 for members, guest £10 and carers £5.  

4. ISCKON Rath Yatra is taking place at Brighton on Saturday 13 September 2025. Coach will depart from Stanmore Swaminarayan Temple at 8.45am; 2nd pickup 9am from Stanmore station. Return from Brigton at 5 pm. Rath yatra start 3 pm before full prasad and kirtan. Charges adult £18; children £12. If you are interested please contact our member Lalitbhai Mehta.

5. DONATION

  • £101 from Pragnaben Mandalia for her husband Yashwantbhai's 90 birthday as mentioned above. Many thanks from the Kendra.
  • £25 from Kantaben Vinodrai Shah on the occasion of her Birthday which was on Thursday 11 September. Also packets of biscuits for tea. Many thanks from the Kendra.

6. Afternoon Programme:

We had arranged a quiz programme on 11th September for our afternoon event.
Vinodbhai Kapashi brought a few  printed  sheets of questions which were distributed amongst the members. People sitting around the different tables had to answer the questions. It was an interesting event. The  questions created more interest in the Gujarati language. However one question was about the newspapers in the UK.
