Dear members,
Jai Jinendra and Jai Shree Krishna,
1. Jain Paryuhan starts from Wednesday 20 to Wednesday 27 August. We will meet as usual on Thursday 21 August, when we will have Yoga as usual, lunch will be provided and will also have an afternoon programme. Members were asked to register early on the wats app group regarding their attendance next Thursday.
2. Donations
- £51 from Manjulaben Navinchandra Patwa and family on the occasion of her grandson** graduated with masters in Mechanical Engineering and her grand daughter Deesha achieving 3A* and A in her A levels.
- £25from Kiranben and Nitinbhai Patel on occasion of their grandson Kush Mehta son of Sheetal and Viral Mehta acjieving 3A* and A in A levels.
- £60 donation for Chaas from Madhuben Jayantibhai Vibhakar for the month of September.
3. London Platinum Jubilee Lions Club presenting a Drama on 20 September at Hatch End High School. The name of the drama is 'Jethalal ne Jackpot Lagyo'. Please contact Nitinbhai Patel or Bhupenbhai Vasa. NVK members will get 10% discount.
4. Afternoon Programme:
Report of Janmashtamai and Independence day programme.
We celebrated India's Independence Day and the festival of Janmashtami on 14th of August 2025
Ms Nisha Hirani conducted today's Yoga session in her unique style. She finished her session at about 12 PM because we had a lot to do after the Yoga.
First Krishna Bhagvan's Thal was sung. Our members had brought sweets, fruits and nuts as offerings to Lord Krishna. After the Thal Visddhi, the birth incident was narrated and members took child Krishna on their head as a mark of respect and devotion. After this Aarti was sung and the Prasad items were distributed together with the afternoon lunch.
After lunch, part two of the celebration took place. Many of our members sang patriotic songs. A small procession was held in the hall whilst chanting the slogans like Bharat Mata ki Jay and Vande Mataram. Many members again sang the appropriate songs.
