1. We had a very interesting and open discussion at our AGM on Thursday 9 October 2025. Many thanks for your support.
2. Our Diwali Dhamaka event is on Thursday 23 October. Get your tickets if not already bought.
- Dress Code- Gents in suits, Ladies in colourful sarees.
- We have 4 raffle prizes donated by anonymous donors. A diwali hamper for best dressed man and lady is donated by Lalitbhai and Chandrikaben Mehta. Many thanks to the donors on behalf of the Kendra.
- Gates will open at 10.20 am. Please come on time so our volunteers can also enjoy the day with their partners.
- Please save you tickets for the raffle draw.
- If your table list is ready please give it to Ellaben at the front desk. We will draw the table numbers during lunch break.
3. 2026-RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP
- E-mails to renew your membership for 2026 will be going out next week. Please look out for the emails in your email accounts.
- The email will have a personalised link that will take you to your own renewal form.
- If you and your partner both have separate email addresses then you will both get separate emails
- If you and your partner both share the same email address you will receive 2 separate emails. One addressed to you-your name will be on the body of the email and the other addressed to your partner in the body of the email.
- This year the validity of the link will be longer - 31 December.
- For 2026, we are not printing new membership cards. Once you have paid your membership fees for 2026. Your existing membership cards will updated by the system for 2026.

- Check your details and if there is any thing that needs changing please inform us by a separate email. You will not be able to make any changes yourself
- The only changes you will be able to make is the option of Birthday greetings and the gift aid option.
4. Donations:
- £51.00 from Vanechand (Batuk) Sanghrajka on the occasion of his 91st birthday on 13 October and in memory of his late wife Binaben Sanghrajka.
- £11.00 from Naresh Doshi in memory of his late brother Ashwin Doshi.

5. Afternoon Programme:
On 16th October Thursday, we had a programme of quizzes. This time some direct questions were asked to our members who were present in the auditorium. Questions covering general knowledge were given out first. Then a few questions about Bollywood were also asked which proved more interesting. Then towards the end members were asked some questions about the Urdu/Arabic/ Farsi words. These words have become part of our film industry and part of everyday conversation.
The programme finished at about 3 PM and members dispersed after tea/coffee and biscuits.
