1). President - Vinod Parekh announced : i) If anyone has any question about our Diwali Dhamaka programme next Thursday, please come forward.  Today is the last day to book your tickets. There will be no refund.  Also complete your Table List with Purnimaben Mehta.

Everyone is requested not to ring directly to Blue Room for any information. If you want to know about anything, please contact us.
Gates will open at 10.30 am and you all are requested not to enter or sit on the Tables before that. 
We are pleased to inform that after our announcement regarding Rangoli at the Venue, four persons have confirmed they will do the Rangoli.
Diwali donations are welcome.  Please give your names to Purnimaben Mehta  or myself.
ii) Just to let you know that we will not meet on Thursday - 23rd Nov '23, but will meet on Tuesday -21st Nov '23.

2). We will start with Sad News.   It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing away of our member - Bhadrabala Jaysukhlal Mehta - Age 80 - on 30/10/23. She was the wife of our member - Jayshukhlal B Mehta. Both were our members since 2007 and had attended many of our programmes and trips. On behalf of all members of NVK, we offer our sincere condolences to the family of late Bhadrabala and pray to Lord Mahavir to rest her soul in eternal peace and give courage to bear the sad loss with fortitude. Let us all join in standing up and observe a minute's silence to pray for her soul.

'Prathna sabha' will be held at Navnat - Hayes tomorrow -  Friday 3/11 from 8.00 to 9.30 pm.

3). Today's Warm up Yoga was conducted by Shantaben Pindoria/Bakul Kothary and main Yoga by Manishaben. She did several Yogic poses with Plastic Belt for toning up many body joints and muscles, insisting on how to perform these correctly. She also did many other yogic poses.  Many thanks to all from NVK  

4). DONATIONS : a) £51 from Kirit & Aruna Shah in celebration of coming festival of Diwali.  Many thanks from NVK.
b) £101 from Hansaben K Gosrani on the occasion of her birthday on 5th Nov. Ramaben Doshi and Jasuben Sheth joined in singing the Happy Birthday song and everyone joined in. Many thanks from NVK and we pray that she will enjoy many more birthdays to come.Inline image

c). £125 from an anonymous donor on the occasion of celebration of a family event.  Many thanks and Best Wishes to the anonymous Donor from NVK

5). After lunch today our Cultural Co-Ordinator -  Dr Vinodbhai Kapashi has arranged
a programme  on Cooking Demonstration and presentation of  some delicious Vanagi (Dishes) for the Diwali season.  Members will give their recipes of the 'vangi' they have chosen.
As usual at Tea Time, NVK will provide Tea.
(Today's Lunch Menu included : Halwasan, Chaana/Bhatula, Kachori, Channa Daal/Rice etc)

Afternoon programme began at 2.10 pm with Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi giving a brief on the programme about the members who have brought 'vangi' from home - its recipe and how it is made etc.

* Jayshreeben D Doshi had made 'Coconut with nuts/dry fruit'.  She explained how it is made and gave its recipe.  Dr. Vinodbhai kept on repeating this so that members knew full details of the 'vangi'

* Kusumben Punater had brought her 'vangi' - 'Weetabix Laadu' and she gave details of the recipe and how it was made.

* Bhartiben Malkan had brought 'Habsi Halwa' and she gave full details of its recipe.

* Sudhaben Kapashi had brought a cake with the name of 'Navjivan' and called on the President - Vinod Parekh to cut the same as Happy Birthday to  NVK.  She also gave full details of the Recipe.

* Ramaben J Doshi came to give the Recipe of how to make 'Ghari'.

Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi had kept on repeating all the recipes and how it was made for the members.  This was much appreciated. All the 'vangi' made by the above members were kept on the table for tasting at Tea Time with tea.  There was plenty of these and everyone really enjoyed the delicious 'vangis'

6). Next Thurs – 9th November we will have a grand Diwali Dhamaka programme at the Blue Room Banqueting Hall. There will be some fantastic Raffle prizes.

7). Secretary - Purnimaben Mehta announced : i) Vanik Council of Kenya has arranged their second Speed Dating event at Navnat Centre, Hayes on Sun - 19th Nov '23 open to all Hindus.  This is a very useful service they provide twice a year.
ii) Table Numbers for the Diwali Dhamaka programme will be drawn later on and everyone is requested to choose a leader of their Table who will come in an orderly manner to pick their number.
iii). PLEASE TAKE NOTE :  1. IF YOUR PHOTO HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN BY CHIMANBHAI TODAY YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SEND YOUR PASSPORT SIZE PHOTO ELECTRONICALLY IN JPEG FORMAT BY E-MAIL TO CHIMANBHAI SHETH ON dischiman@gmail.com

2. Those that have not already submitted their NHS number please make sure you submit it ON Thursday 16 November.

8). Dr. Vinodbhai Kapashi announced details of the afternoon programme and requested any member who wants to come forward and demonstrate or give Recipe of a 'vangi' or tips for rasoi should give their names to him.
