3. REPORT OF THE AFTERNOON PROGRAMME OF WEDNESDAY 19th of AUGUST
On 19th August, Wednesday we had the usual Yoga session by Manishaben Wala. After lunch we celebrated India's Independence Day. We noticed that less people were in attendance as we did the programme on Wednesday and not on Thursday. However those who were present in the afternoon programme - and that is about 140 people- were full of enthusiasm. We held a procession in the hall with the chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jay" and "Vande Mataram". This lasted for around 15-20 minutes. After the procession, Vinod Kapashi asked a few questions to the people in attendance. This was like a short 'warming up session'. However, our members liked this short session and enjoyed the questions and answers. After this we asked people to sing songs or present any dance items. Five or six songs (Dhiren and Niru Doshi, were sung by our members. One hurriedly prepared dance, led by Sudha Kapashi, Krishna Mehta and Kusumben Punater was presented. Some joined on the spot which lifted the spirit of the event - Jayshreeben Doshi, Kalaben Malde, Nitaben Chotai etc. This item was Desh Rangeela Rangilla. Three/four ladies had practiced this from 12 pm to 12.45 PM. This was well received by the audience and many joined in this colourful dance event.
Another highlight of this event was a big cake in India's TRi-colour. Krishnaben Shah made it and brought it to the hall. This was more than enough for about 150 people. We thank all participants for their patriotic items. Apologies if any name is missed out as some come forward at the last minute.
